ECYPS FORUM FEEDBACK AND ISSUES ARISING FROM MEETING ON 29TH jUNE 2011
We have both copies of the Children England quarterly journal as well as membership applications in the office if any organization would like them.
It is probably pertinent to let groups know that we take all issues of concern to the sector through to Children England at the termly Pan London forums. From here – issues for Enfield’s voluntary sector children’s services are included in feedback to government agencies. This has been the process we have been following for the past three years. In addition to this – Children England send us regular questionnaires as part of country-wide research – again to feed into government agencies. All the issues raised in forum meetings, training and one to one support sessions are channeled through this mechanism where appropriate.
The topics requested at future meetings are : Olympic Legacy, Young Carers affected by multiple caring responsibilities, Youth Safety, Engaging Young Volunteers, A Review of the completed CYP Plan, Youth and Adults working in partnership for a safer community, Outcomes from issues raised at forums
It was clear that there is an expectation that the group receives information on outcomes from all aspects of the forum meeting and we will endeavour to meet this requirement.
Issues arising from the forum were :
- Requests for information on services available for young people
- Youth Forums / Youth Parliament
- Help with housing needs of young people
- Area youth forums
- List of groups who attended meeting.
- Residents’ Priority Fund
- SPEED DATING EVENT
The kind of groups that you said you wanted to attend the speed dating group are :
- Training organizations including colleges, accreditation organizations
- Youth groups
- Groups working with young offenders
- Businesses that want to support the third sector
- Council officers and members who make decisions about working with the third sector
- Housing Organisations
If anyone has things they would like to add to the above retrospectively, please do not hesitate to contact us.
